Imagine a concentrate boasting 99 percent purity, a crystalline powder containing only CBD. No oils, waxes, fats or chemicals like chlorophyll in it at all.
Well, it exists in the form of CBD isolate, a new cannabinoid concentrate that is quickly gaining traction as one of the best of its kind.
If you’re a newbie to the developments in the world of medicinal cannabis, using CBD isolate might sound dangerous or illicit. The unknown often does that.
But that presumption about it being dangerous couldn’t be further from the truth. Read on to discover the facts about this novel concentrate and the best ways you can consume it.
5 Ways to Use CBD Isolate
CBD isolate is an all-purpose concentrate. Its chief advantage is its versatility — available to be consumed through a number of different methods and styles. Here are 5 of them.
1. Smoking CBD isolate
Nothing is more classic than rolling and smoking a joint! Smoking CBD isolate is simple. The powdery structure makes it extremely easy to incorporate the concentrate into your smoking ritual.
When rolling a joint, take a pinch of it and sprinkle some throughout before rolling.
Similar to kief (aka resin), CBD isolate will be combusted and inhaled through your lungs as your joint burns down, giving your system a boost of CBD.
The same principle can be applied when using a bong — simply incorporate the CBD isolate into your bowl as you would with your kief.
Instead of placing it on top of your bowl, try mixing the isolate with your bowl of flower to coat it.
Sometimes, smoking a joint or hitting a bowl from a bong can be too much and lead many to endure nausea, dizziness and acute anxiety. The addition of some CBD can help to mitigate some of these effects.
2. Cooking and eating CBD isolate
Cooking with CBD isolate is a popular consumption method and it’s easy to understand why.
We’re going to give you a few steps for the cooking process. You’ll quickly see the flexibility and ease of use that CBD isolate enjoys.
You might think it strange, but it’s perfect for including it in a variety of meals and edibles from smoothies to pasta.
How to Make Edibles with CBD Isolate
Step 1: Infuse CBD isolate with oil
Before you can begin cooking with it, you have to infuse it with a carrier oil. This infusion makes the CBD more bioavailable, allowing our bodies to absorb CBD isolate more quickly.
For our purposes, we’ll be using MCT coconut oil because it’s relatively flavourless.
Step 2: Combine oil and isolate
Once you’ve located your MCT oil, take a large pot and fill it with water before putting a smaller sized glass bowl inside of it.
In the smaller bowl suspended on top of the water, combine your MCT oil and your CBD isolate.
You can decide the dosage yourself — we used 1 gram of CBD isolate with 30ml of MCT oil.
Step 3: Stir mixture
Maintain a medium-low temperature. Stir until your mixture is combined and you’ll have CBD infused cooking coconut oil!
Recipes calling for olive or vegetable oil can be substituted with your own CBD coconut oil.
For easy edibles, try baking some oil-based brownies or tossing al-dente pasta with your oil for a CBD infused meal.

For even easier consumption, CBD isolate can even be administered sublingually.
Step 4: E-juice
Do you have an e-cigarette or vape and have wondered how to use it with CBD isolate?
Inquire no more! CBD isolate can be easily included in your favorite e-cigarette juice as well as your vaporizer.
For e-juice, there are 2 methods. If your favorite juice is a 50/50 mixture of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, you can stir to dissolve the crystals within your e-juice.
Slightly warming your mixture before stirring ensures proper incorporation of your CBD isolate.
If you plan on making your own flavored e-juice, the process is slightly more difficult. CBD dissolves well propylene glycol (PG) but the same can’t be said for vegetable glycerin (VG).
Your e-juice will have to contain a 60/40 ratio of PG to VG. Begin with combining your CBD isolate with your PG, making sure it is properly mixed before adding in your VG.
At this point, you can either use your CBD e-juice as is or continue to add in your own flavours.
3. Dabbing CBD isolate
As with rolling joints and packing bongs, CBD isolate can be added to a host of concentrates including shatters, wax and distillate. That is, if you enjoy the combination with other cannabinoids like THC.
Do so by simply dropping a pinch of CBD isolate on top of your concentrate of choice and dab away.
The additional CBD will help mitigate the overwhelming side effects of dabbing while still giving you that THC high.
If you’re aiming to enjoy the isolate on its own CBD isolate can easily be dabbed.
Run the edge of your dab nail over the isolate to ensure it is vaporized and not just sucked in through the pipe.
If you don’t have access to a dabbing rig, you can also vaporize CBD isolate in a dab pen.
Dab pens like these allow for convenient, on-the-go dabbing. All you have to do is load the chamber, close it once it’s full and start dabbing away.
4. Vaping CBD isolate
Wondering how to vape CBD isolate? Consider it because it’s a discreet method of consumption, as well as a great alternative to smoking a joint or ripping a bong.
As with kief, you won’t be able to vape CBD isolate on its own. The powdery, crystal nature of the isolate is not conducive to the vaporization process unless mixed in with some flower, or another substance of choice.
All you have to do is pack your vape with flower or the other substance as you normally would before adding a pinch of CBD isolate into your chamber. Thoroughly mix to make sure all of the ground flower or other substance is covered with the CBD isolate before closing the chamber.
And that’s it!
